My reaction:
According to John Carvel’s “New year surge in divorce rate predicted”, he mentions the phenomenon that occurs in the Britain. He plots a image that will happen in the following 2009.
The divorce rate in England, the author thought there might be a surge in the early January, will be much severer than any other month in 2008. The LGA said it appeared that mortgage arrears were driving more people's relationships on to the rocks. It predicted that marital problems would reach a crisis point in early January, when divorce proceedings can be 50% higher than at any other time of year. The 50% of the divorce rate was such a terrible number when it was compared to other countries.
The horrible scene appears in the next year may be a result of the economic depression. The recession we are in now put a lot of families in a deteriorating situation. Many of them could not bear the financial burden from their family and company. They not only have to sway over the thundering period of this stage but should sustain their life lest the family supporting by them should collapse.
It seems that there is every reason to push to responsibility to the economic aggravation. It is the truth seen by the appearance of the depression but what inside the economic depression still remains a lot of opportunities for people but they do not want have it because it is not worth of their value and you called this kind of people should be saved by the social welfare, I am afraid not.

According to JAMES FLANIGAN’s “Software That Opens Worlds to the Disabled”, he showed us a new system for the public but special for the vision or physical disabled.
I saw the topic about the disabled and it raised my interest to take a look of what the author’s view toward the subject. What the major center the concerned about was what and how they could do for the disabled. There is a engineer working for NASA preparing a project called “Project:Possibility”, and he created a chance for the people who seemed not so similar as the normal people. The effort is centered at the University of Southern California and led by volunteers who were willing to devote themselves to help the people who could not do what we normal human could do.
In 2007, they organized a competition called “Code for a Cause” in which 25 students in five teams engaged in a weekend of intense computer code-writing this program even attract the high executive of google &Microsoft. They are the people who gather simultaneously and never bear the thought of wasting time or something discriminating the disabled.
Without revenue and without pay for participants. Its programs belong to the nonprofit project and to the University of Southern California. Its sole source of financing was a $15,000 grant in early 2008 from the Mozilla Foundation. They are charitable company that donate to support the campaign and to raise a foundation for the minor group.

According to BEN SHPIGEL’s “For $37 Million, Mets Get a Closer With Charisma”, he exposed the phenomenon that players in the major actually faces and gave us little impression of what the inner system of the major baseball league like.
When firstly I saw the topic of the this article, I was most attracted by its interesting opening “$37 Million.” I wondered if any corporation would that high price just for a baseball player. But I thought it more deeply not only for the player himself but also for the company which could afford it, I realized that they, the company, was willing to pay that high price because the fame and the extra revenue the corporation got was much more uncountable if that prestigious professional player joined them.
Our country also has a famous player who had rolled around in the minor league in America for a number of years and he is a national hero now called “Wang” or even “Tiger Wang” by the New Yorker. I still clearly remembered he was prompted to the higher level by the year 2005. At that time, I did not really identify with his pitching ability but never had I thought he could stand erectly in the major Yankees where there is full of ferocious competition despite of now or ever.
I think every player definitely worth their price. Because the arm they used for earning their living could not be used for such a long time as 10 or 20 years so just like doctor profession they just earn the future that other also will get for after many years.

My reaction

This article, I think, is not a formal reflection as I had ever written before but it is an interesting article I find in Times. I want to give you a new topic toward the world in this time for weblog.
Who will be the person of the year 2008? The CNN has listed plenty of names on the page and the man who at the top of that poll is the newly president election winner Obama. But in my opinion I take Mr. Al Gore as my first choice if you let my choose who was the man for the year 2008.
The reason why I want to select this person for my choice is that he proposed a critical problem for our Mother Earth. Al Gore, the ex-vice president, he devoted himself into the so called green house effect the most deteriorating situation the whole human beings encounter now. But where I think he did the greatest for our human was the identity he bore and he was willing to blame the U.S that they just concerned the rapid development of industry and gasoline as a vice president and a white man.
The web page has given us a lot of choice to let us select one for that interesting poll.
Obama gained many upholders that the second place still had a much more space to work on. I do not prefer Obama as the person of 2008 is because his influence did not come from the beginning to the end of 2008 and maybe he will show his overwhelming ability to lead the great American back to where they should be though they were almost beaten over that past lots of months. According to Michael M. Grynbaum’s “U.S. consumer spending declines again”, he proposed a severe view toward the world we face now.
He lets us know what the problem of the world economic.
Why the whole globe is in such a terrible status does not give us an obstinate image to think. The origin of the reason why the world economic go form bad to worse is because the American bank system run badly. The crisis comes from the high price of gasoline and because of this all the daily necessities are also given a higher price than they should be. And I think maybe it is due to the high status of everything and a lot of families can not make ends meet and thus it gives rise to the spending rate is dropping so dramatically. As the American themselves said the free spending habit of their former life style should be devised. But it seems that not all the business markets are in a bad situation. The communication equipment is the exception. Maybe it is why so many communication company can still struggle until now.
I think nowadays what we should put at the top priority is control our own desire. I can easily think of if we saved the money we throw in the drinking machines and what if we saved them just only a month and how much money we can keep for our own. It maybe the most efficient way to battle with the whole deteriorating condition now and the maybe also the most useful method to sway over this hard period.

According to MATT RICHTEL’s “A Sea of Unwanted Imports”, he exposed the phenomena that the whole global faced now. And the author gave a point of view about how the world treated this global crisis.
My reaction:
On knowing how the global crisis, I was so astonished of the situation we were in now. I think nowadays we do not just face the environmental problem, but also encounter the severe condition in our economic, finance or even politics. As the spokesman in General Mobile said the economic status now would” it scares you to death “
In this article it showed a obvious evidence to us. It is that “what was produced today may not be sold even in the next day. It gave us impressive image that the car can be made but can not be sold. They had stored so many car at the port that the manufacturers was asked to move part of their products to another place because the original place was too tiny to retain so many orphans. And the owners of the manufactures are all waiting the help from the governor to sway them over this hard time. This despair image does not just reflect on selling but working. Kurt Golledge, 48, was one of just two truckers was laid of last week because the company said he was too old to take on this work and just kicked him away.
In my opinion, I have a suggestion that we should not just sit on the chair to wait for something to come to you. We have to work hard and earn by our very self and thus we could not worry about when I will lose my job and how could I live without earning any money.

According to YURI ZARAKHOVICH’s Moscow's Challenge to Obama,” it mentioned the crisis that Moscow now encounter. And the president in Russia now is anxious about the solution toward the turmoil in global markets.
I think once Obama won the American president election the whole situation between America and Russia may be improved.
In my opinion, I think the war between Moscow's and Georgia was the result of the conflict between the America and Russia. Because of the encouragement and support from the U.S., Georgia was therefore had the nerves to provoke the Russia, such a powerful nation.
Medvedev, the Russia president now, claimed tha-+t because the military bases were deployed, we Russia therefore should respond to this embarrassing situation.
And the president hence decided to cancele the long planned dismantling of the Kozelsk ICBM Division and would deploy short-range Iskander missiles and electronic jamming systems in Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania.
The Russia further complained that the U.S should be responsible for the turmoil in global markets that hit Russia particularly hard. The main stock index in Russia, according to the analyst, is down roughly four times compared to a year ago and it puts the Russia economic status in a colder condition than ever.
Finally, I really think because the winning over his rival in the election and gain the most public opinion from his country, Obama may lead the country to a better living stander than ever, at least in the economic and politician.

According to Michael Miller’s “WORLD AFFAIRS The Age of Innocents,”
It depicts a severe national conflict in Mexico and it raises the very attention
to what happen in the country.
In my opinion, I think it must have been a long-term question that finally broke out in these days. It all originated from the organization which was called cartel. The cartel was something like a trade union, which had powerful strength to provoke a bloody war in Mexico and traded something like drugs or so, just at the south of the American State, and it included the adult and even the young participated in the complicated situation. The members in cartel was ranged very low, and the most horrible was the two small children who did not knew the world any more in Tijuana. We could know what the hell happened to that country from the day they celebrated Mexican Independence Day. It might the beginning of the whole chaos.
Now, the chaotic country pops out the new leader called Calderón's. I think, from my point of view, he will take the strongest measures to suppress the crowd who put the whole country out of order. The leader claims that the military troop may act as police force if it is necessary. What is more astonished to the world is that drug war has at least killed 3,725 persons this year more than the sum total in the past 2 years from 2006.

According to Patricia Zengerle’s”Crisis reverberates from Hungary to Wall Street.”It exposes what, the financial crisis, we are facing now and we encounter the severest economical problem after the the Persian Gulf war.
The economic storm swamps all over the world from Europe to American state and from Russia to Australia. There is no nation in the world can escape this devastating catastrophe. This phenomenon , I think, will not be ended in a short time at least in the recent years.
The news seen in the paper just a few days ago reported the bank, which was ranked at the front of the top banks declared bankrupt and made the bank system in the U.S be in a mess. The consequence also resulted in the serial action. The effect appeared in the stock market ,too. The investor who plunged their hard earning in the trap was heartbroken and they could find their money nowhere. Though the leading countries in business or industry were anxious about solving the terrible problem, it seemed to be time-costing.
The serial impact also posed a threat to a lot of families because the owner who managed a company would like to lower their expenses on the persons. Then, they would do something like job-cutting or job-laying. I think, in my opinion, if the world economic trouble does not be solved the criminal rate will also climb just like the rate of unemployment rate.
We could still pay some attention to what happened in the world like the bankrupt of Iceland or at the edge in Korean. These were the most apparent evidence that the economical recession appear in front of us.

According to By Neil Shea “Fire Season” it summarizes the reason why there are always having fire in late spring and lasts into fall . It also exposes the shortcoming the firefighters confront now.
The so called “Fire season” begins at late spring and lasts into fall. Just like any other natural disaster in other place like tornadoes or earthquakes the fire has claimed a lot of resources in the U.S. But what is the main reason why the fire have caused such high cost this time is the firefighters who rescue the fire use the risky way to extinguish it and the way was usually used to stop the fire.
The way used to put out the fire is called “backburn.” It is a method that the American fire rescuers utilize to quit the fire going on. But the way used this time seems badly because it not only does not stop the fire but, what is worse, give a chance to let the fire glow. What made the problem worse was the wind which suddenly appeared and ruined the whole schedule the firefighters who were optimistic at first planed to do. But, at the last step to think about what the most important reason for this disastrous disaster is originated from the drought coming earlier and the storm arriving later and it is now the most possible answer about this catastrophe.

The food contained the chemical -melamine- make everybody anxious around the world.
The U.S Food and Drug Administration first raised the scarced problem. After that, many nationes on the earth banned the food suspected contained toxicant from China.
How this question boomed is the King Car Food was tested having contained food and it is most severe in the infant formula and their instant food.Though many company has recalled their product had sold in the supermarket. The public has been afraid of the nondairy creamer product made from China .
In recent years, the product produced from China has made plenty of problems in the world .I think the China authorities concerned should think of the appropriate policy to deal with the troublesome situation.
