My reaction:
According to John Carvel’s “New year surge in divorce rate predicted”, he mentions the phenomenon that occurs in the Britain. He plots a image that will happen in the following 2009.
The divorce rate in England, the author thought there might be a surge in the early January, will be much severer than any other month in 2008. The LGA said it appeared that mortgage arrears were driving more people's relationships on to the rocks. It predicted that marital problems would reach a crisis point in early January, when divorce proceedings can be 50% higher than at any other time of year. The 50% of the divorce rate was such a terrible number when it was compared to other countries.
The horrible scene appears in the next year may be a result of the economic depression. The recession we are in now put a lot of families in a deteriorating situation. Many of them could not bear the financial burden from their family and company. They not only have to sway over the thundering period of this stage but should sustain their life lest the family supporting by them should collapse.
It seems that there is every reason to push to responsibility to the economic aggravation. It is the truth seen by the appearance of the depression but what inside the economic depression still remains a lot of opportunities for people but they do not want have it because it is not worth of their value and you called this kind of people should be saved by the social welfare, I am afraid not.

According to JAMES FLANIGAN’s “Software That Opens Worlds to the Disabled”, he showed us a new system for the public but special for the vision or physical disabled.
I saw the topic about the disabled and it raised my interest to take a look of what the author’s view toward the subject. What the major center the concerned about was what and how they could do for the disabled. There is a engineer working for NASA preparing a project called “Project:Possibility”, and he created a chance for the people who seemed not so similar as the normal people. The effort is centered at the University of Southern California and led by volunteers who were willing to devote themselves to help the people who could not do what we normal human could do.
In 2007, they organized a competition called “Code for a Cause” in which 25 students in five teams engaged in a weekend of intense computer code-writing this program even attract the high executive of google &Microsoft. They are the people who gather simultaneously and never bear the thought of wasting time or something discriminating the disabled.
Without revenue and without pay for participants. Its programs belong to the nonprofit project and to the University of Southern California. Its sole source of financing was a $15,000 grant in early 2008 from the Mozilla Foundation. They are charitable company that donate to support the campaign and to raise a foundation for the minor group.

According to BEN SHPIGEL’s “For $37 Million, Mets Get a Closer With Charisma”, he exposed the phenomenon that players in the major actually faces and gave us little impression of what the inner system of the major baseball league like.
When firstly I saw the topic of the this article, I was most attracted by its interesting opening “$37 Million.” I wondered if any corporation would that high price just for a baseball player. But I thought it more deeply not only for the player himself but also for the company which could afford it, I realized that they, the company, was willing to pay that high price because the fame and the extra revenue the corporation got was much more uncountable if that prestigious professional player joined them.
Our country also has a famous player who had rolled around in the minor league in America for a number of years and he is a national hero now called “Wang” or even “Tiger Wang” by the New Yorker. I still clearly remembered he was prompted to the higher level by the year 2005. At that time, I did not really identify with his pitching ability but never had I thought he could stand erectly in the major Yankees where there is full of ferocious competition despite of now or ever.
I think every player definitely worth their price. Because the arm they used for earning their living could not be used for such a long time as 10 or 20 years so just like doctor profession they just earn the future that other also will get for after many years.

My reaction

This article, I think, is not a formal reflection as I had ever written before but it is an interesting article I find in Times. I want to give you a new topic toward the world in this time for weblog.
Who will be the person of the year 2008? The CNN has listed plenty of names on the page and the man who at the top of that poll is the newly president election winner Obama. But in my opinion I take Mr. Al Gore as my first choice if you let my choose who was the man for the year 2008.
The reason why I want to select this person for my choice is that he proposed a critical problem for our Mother Earth. Al Gore, the ex-vice president, he devoted himself into the so called green house effect the most deteriorating situation the whole human beings encounter now. But where I think he did the greatest for our human was the identity he bore and he was willing to blame the U.S that they just concerned the rapid development of industry and gasoline as a vice president and a white man.
The web page has given us a lot of choice to let us select one for that interesting poll.
Obama gained many upholders that the second place still had a much more space to work on. I do not prefer Obama as the person of 2008 is because his influence did not come from the beginning to the end of 2008 and maybe he will show his overwhelming ability to lead the great American back to where they should be though they were almost beaten over that past lots of months.
